The Garden Festival – the original trailblazer of Croatian festivals, no less – celebrated its tenth birthday in 2015 while announcing they were spreading their party wings for the final time. Hold the disco tears though; out of the ashes, a new phoenix is set to rise in the form of Love International, its spiritual successor created by the same team with just as much love and dedication to stellar electronic music. These are big boots to fill – but we somehow think they’ll manage.
2016 will be Love International’s fledgling year, but don’t let that fool you; the lineup is already looking well-stocked with big names like Joy Orbison, Dixon, Craig Richards and Prosumer, plus many more to be announced in January. They’ll be maintaining the sense of intimacy that made The Garden so special – and making full use of Tisno’s beautiful beaches, balmy summer nights and glorious celestial canopy, naturally – but you can be sure that Love International will be forging a love-struck path that’s all its own.

Love International Festival 2016 Location
A picturesque 16th-century fishing village connected by a drawbridge to the Isle of Murter, Tisno is a serene spot that’s enjoyed considerable popularity in recent years, mainly due to the fact that it now plays host to a staggering five of Croatia’s most sought-after festivals. During the summer months, party monsters in search of electronic bliss swarm its elegant coves and peaceful olive groves – and it’s easy to see why; as locations for a week of sun-drenched hedonism go, you’d be hard pressed to find lovelier.
Take it easy in the daytime hours and explore the narrow snaking paths of the fishing village, then get fed and watered in one of the areas myriad bars and restaurants. Work it all off by taking a hike up to the hill for incredible views over the Kornati Islands or making a splash at the Takeshi’s Castle style waterpark, before ramping up the energy for a night of soulful tunes and tasteful excess.
