Fear not, hip-hop heads; this sun-drenched slice of the Adriatic has more to offer than just electronic beats and beaches. Launched in 2012, Fresh Island is Europe’s largest and most well-respected hip-hop and urban music festival, boasting some seriously impressive past lineups that have included heavyweights like Rick Ross, Asap Rocky and Snoop Dogg. 2016 is set to continue sonically in the same upwards trajectory–watch this space for the lineup, because it’s likely to be huge.
Set across three of Europe’s biggest superclubs on the beguiling island of Pag, Fresh Island offers up three days of incredible headliners, performing on crystal-clear, bass-heavy sound systems on arguably one of the prettiest beaches this side of the Caribbean. Spend your downtime recovering in the company of the serene Adriatic ocean before hitting up a couple of daytime pool parties and greeting sunrise in the mammoth surroundings of superclubs Aquarius and Papaya.

Fresh Island Festival Location
The newfound popularity of high-octane club mecca Zcre Beach has transformed the island of Pag into something of a global party destination in recent years. Located a mile from Novalja, Zcre Beach is a place to see and be seen, hosting swathes of glamorous revellers looking to soak up sunshine in near-flawless natural surroundings. Some of the biggest and best clubs in Europe are to be found on this idyllic slice of the Adriatic, so if you’re going to see the sunrise anywhere, make it here.
Partied out and in search of downtime? Pag boasts leisurely hidden gems in spades. Connected to the mainland by a bridge, it’s an island of wild, winsome rural landscapes dotted with small villages and hamlets and tranquil coastal boltholes like the serene Strasko Beach. It’s not all cheap drinks and big beats (although you’ll find plenty of that business, of course, if that’s your scene).
